Drucplast SA is a conventional concrete admixture based on a blend of sulphonated naphthalene formaldehyde condensates and other specially selected organic polymers. Its combined super plasticizing properties gives it significant water reduction at any given workability. It can be used as an ASTM type F & A, depending upon the dosage used. It produces very cohesive concrete with good fluidity and moderate slump retention.
Fields of Application :-
Produces low- to medium-grade pump-able concrete with moderate dosage.
Can be used with slightly higher dosages in high-grade concrete where both early and later strength gain is required.
Can be used in shotcrete where quick setting is desirable.
Key Features :-
Easy to use – Low water content results in cohesive concrete, easier and quicker placement and compaction, and a better surface finish.
High early and final strength – Low water-to- cement ratio improves strength while maintaining the same workability.
Increased concrete durability Lower W/C ratio and cement paste content results in high impermeability, low susceptibility to chemical attack and reduced shrinkage cracks.
Faster jobs The product initiates early setting and strength gain.
Cost effective The product reduces the use of cement by approximately 10-20%.
Conforms To International Standards :-
This quality product conforms to the following standards:
ISO: 9103-1999, (reaffirmed 2004)
Edition 2.2 (2007-2008) ASTM C494/C494M-08a
Type F & A, & BS EN 934
High Compatibility :-
The product is compatible with all cement types, except for high alumina cement. It is also compatible with fly ash and other GCPL admixtures.
Technical Properties :
Form | Liquid |
Chemical basis | Sulphonated Nephthalene Formaldehyde Condensate |
Specific gravity | 1.20 ± 0.02 at 20°C |
Chloride Content | NIL (BS EN 934) |
Air entrainment | May increase marginally/less than 1 % additional air is entrained within the recommended dosage |
Effect on setting time | Very nominal at normal dosages. Higher dosages may show over retardation |
Dosage :-
Optimum dosage should be determined by site trial with the desired concrete mix. Avoid overdosing. The rate of addition is usually 0.8% to 1.5% by wt. of cement, depending upon the required water reduction, slump retention and strength gain.
Directions for use :-
Drucplast SA is supplied ready for use. For maximum dispersion throughout the mix, refer to the chart below. Mix the indicated quantity of Drucplast SA and water to pre wet cement aggregate mixture. Allow the mix to rotate for at least three minutes. Do not add to dry cement under any circumstances.
